Message from the Dean

Welcome to the 2025–2026 academic year!

Our students are at the heart of everything we do. Your active engagement throughout all years of your degree journey is the engine that drives the vibrant, global community that has made us Canada's top-ranked engineering school, and among the best in the world.

To make your time here rewarding and fulfilling as possible, we’ve designed our course offerings to complement and strengthen the skills and talent you bring to Skule™. In this calendar, you will find everything you need to know about the curriculum for each of our nine undergraduate programs, as well as information on scholarships, financial aid and other important policies and procedures.

Remember: nobody goes through this alone, and we are always here to help. You can connect with a full range of student support resources through our First Year Office, departmental offices (for upper-year students), Dean's Office and Registrar's Office. We will keep you informed of our Faculty's activities and events through our student newsletters, open discussions, information sessions and digital displays. You can also follow @uoftengineering on all major social media platforms and watch for communications from the Engineering Society, your student body representatives. Your input and suggestions are always welcome.

Courses are important, but they are only one component of our enriched educational environment. Be sure to explore your interests and expand your horizons by making the most of our co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities, both with and beyond Skule™. I also encourage you to pursue global experiences and seek out career-building opportunities, whether through our Professional Experience Year Co-op Program, our numerous minors and certificates, our award-winning student clubs and teams or our rich suite of programs dedicated to leadership, entrepreneurship and professional development.

I wish you an exciting and fulfilling academic year, and I look forward to seeing all that you will accomplish.

Chris Yip
Dean, Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering
