CIV454H1: Urban Operations Research

0.50
36.6L/24.4T

Focuses on quantitative methods and techniques for the analysis and modelling of urban transportation and service systems. Major topics include probabilistic modelling, stochastic processes, queuing models of transport operations, network models, mathematical programming and simulation. The application of these methods to the analysis and modelling of various components of the urban transportation system (including road, transit and pedestrian facilities) and to the planning and design of logistically oriented urban service systems (e.g., fire and police departments, emergency medical services, etc.) is emphasized.
