Introduction to numerical analysis techniques including the following topics: root-finding, polynomial interpolation, numerical integration, solution of linear systems of equations, least squares fitting, solution of nonlinear equations, numerical differentiation, solution of ordinary differential equations, and solution of partial differential equations. Lectures as well as tutorial assignments using computational software will emphasize algorithmic thinking and effective programming of computational methods for engineering applications.
