A capstone design project intended to have students synthesize and apply the technical knowledge and communication skills gained in previous courses. Students will work in teams and engage in all facets of the design project. The focus of this design course is to engage the students in a detailed design of a solution for a transportation operations problem. Detailed design typically includes reference to design standards, identification of constraints, facility design, technology selection, performance optimization, consideration of technical and human factors, quantification of specific impacts, and preparation of detailed design drawings.
